Tinubu appoints new FGN Power Company mgt team

In recognition of the critical role of power supply in driving enterprise and industrial development, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new members of the management team of the FGN Power Company Limited.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the appointment was part of the comprehensive efforts to reform the power sector and ensure energy security for all Nigerians.

The appointees include; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Kenny Osebi Anuwe (reappointed); Company Secretary/Legal Advisor – Prof Mamman Lawal (reappointed); Chief Technical Officer (CTO) – Ebenezer Olawale Fapohunda; Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) – Babatunde Daramola Oniru; and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Julius Oyekola Olabiyi.

The President anticipates that with the full constitution of the management team, the FGN Power Company Limited will work assiduously to realize the core objectives of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) in close collaboration with Siemens Energy through a holistic overhaul, modernization, and expansion of the national grid and other critical measures to ensure the growth of the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

Similarly as part of his diligent efforts to substantially enhance the quality and quantity of electric power wheeled across the nation’s power grid, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four Nigerian professionals to serve as Executive Directors of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), for a renewable term of four years.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The appointees includes; Engineer Oluwagbenga Ajiboye — Executive Director, Transmission Service Provider; Engineer Nafisatu Ali — Executive Director, Independent System Operations; Ochije Ogini Chukwuka — Executive Director, Finance and Accounts; Abiodun Foluso Afolabi — Executive Director, Human Resources & Corporate Services.

The President expects that these Nigerians who have been appointed on the strength of their experience, competence level, qualifications, character, and dedication will commit themselves wholly to realizing the innovative and expansive energy vision of his administration, in addition to delivering consistently excellent service to the Nigerian people.
