‘TCN committed to enhance wheeling capacity’

Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has said it is committed to improve its wheeling capacity’ and at the same time maintain cordial relationship with all stakeholders in the sector.

This, according to the TCN, is aimed at ensuring that Nigerians enjoyed a more stable electricity supply.

The company stated this as it announced the appointment of focal persons to interface with electricity Distribution Companies or Discos to ensure that they take more power to the consumers.

In addition to ensuring smooth distribution of electricity to consumers, the firm said, it will also resolve and minimise technical challenges, expand the load and promptly attend to distribution interface issues, TCN said.

The focal persons were inaugurated recently at the TCN corporate headquarters, Abuja.

A statement signed by the General Manager (Public Affairs), Ndidi Mbah, said that management decided to appoint interface focal persons in order to upscale power delivery to distribution load centres nationwide.

According to the statement, the terms of reference for the focal persons are to liaise with Discos daily as representatives of TCN on all Discos/TCN interface issues, and resolve the issues as soon as they occur.

The appointees include Engr. L. C. Okalla, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company; Engr. Jude Agupusi, Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company; Engr. A. O. Balogun, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company; Engr. C. Iwuamadi and Engr. S. O. Omoragbon, for Eko and Ikeja Distribution companies respectively.

Others are Engr. Balarabe Abdullahi, Kano Electricity Distribution Company; Engr. M. S. Nuhu, Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company; Engr. A. O. Labaran; Enugu Electricity Distribution Company; Engr. M. I. Tijani, Benin Electricity Distribution Company; Engr. M. D. Ahmed, Jos Sub- Region and Engr. Tijani Ahmadu, Jos and Yola electricity distribution companies respectively.
