Taraba Methodist orphanage needs skill knowledge –Coordinator
The United Methodist Church in Nigeria (UMCN) Orphanage Committee and leadership of the church, in Jalingo in Taraba state, have requested the members of the general public, both in Taraba and beyond to continue to give their unalloyed support in training the fatherless and motherless children under their care.
This was contained in a Press Statement, which was signed and issued to Journalists by the Coordinator of the Home, Mr. Simon Benjamin asking that the children need skills knowledge to give them self-reliance.
The Statement, which demands the general public to extend their hand of fellowship to the children in their various fields of endeavor and specializations, is aimed at giving them future hope.
“Kindly pick one or two to your Shop if you are a Mechanic, Welder, Plumber, Electrician, Building Contractor, Hair Dresser and many more”, the statement added.
The statement further appeals that the children need to be assisted in times of feeding, education, health care delivery services, clothing, counselling, playground and sports equipment to keep them busy.
It however, sends its profound gratitude to all individuals, groups of Churches, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Muslims, who according to it, contributed immensely for the upkeep of the Orphans throughout year 2016.
“We remained thankful to all our donors, and philanthropists who in one way of the other have made our life the same with others in the society.
“You feed us, dress us, gave us medical treatment, sponsored us to various schools outside the orphanage, visited us in the Orphanage, put smiles on our faces from January to December, despite all the hardship which we never in life experienced but you stood by our side and we are not afraid and never disappointed”
“We appreciate the Government of Taraba State for the provision of adequate security to the Orphanage both day and night and allowing various media Houses in the State to give us the most needed publicity”, the Statement added.
