Samuel Luka, Bauchi

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election, President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to surrender his re-election bid or be disgraced out of office in the February 16 presidential polls. The National Chairman of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus while advising Buhari at a campaign rally in Bauchi on Tuesday said that President Muhammadu Buhari is “tired, weak and cannot move further and therefore must surrender” power. Secondus said, “the propaganda cannot work for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) anymore, they cannot deceive anymore, Buhari is tired, Buhari is weak, Buhari cannot go further and therefore he must surrender. Prince Secondus who spoke amidst thousands of PDP supporters said “Nothing can help Buhari now because he cannot interface, he cannot interact, he cannot engage with Nigerians and we believe that Atiku can engage anybody in Nigeria. He assured the people of Bauchi that if elected president of Nigeria, Atiku will not allow some people to rule behind the scene. According to Secondus, “what is happening now is that, President Buhari has given his power to the cabal. There will be no cabal in the Presidency with Atiku as President. He will have tireless and sleepless night to fix the Nation”. On his part, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar regretted supporting APC during the 2015 general elections saying, “For more than three years of APC administration now, what have they done for you? Is it not hunger, poverty unemployment and lies? When I was Vice President in 2003, a memo was brought to me by Hon. Shira for the restoration of Steyr Company where I approved N500million. But APC has driven the company into comatose, Steyr is dead now. If you vote for me, I will revamp back your Steyr Company and it will create jobs for hundreds of our teeming unemployed youths. “We even commissioned rail line running from Bauchi cross Gombe to Maiduguri but APC has abandoned it. Also, we commissioned dry port to boost businesses in Bauchi, but it is closed today because of the nonchalance of the APC. But I will revive it if you vote for me”, he said. In his goodwill message, the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara enjoined the electorates in the state to vote Atiku enmass to stop the lingering poverty in the northeast. He said, “If it is true that Nigeria is the capital of poverty as asserted by some people, then Northeastern part of the country is the stronghold. “Those in the northeast that will not vote for Atiku are traitors. It is only Atiku who have remedy for poverty, hunger, unemployment and insecurity. If you invest in Atiku you will not fail.” speaker Dogara assured. Dogara who said there has been zero presence of government in Bauchi state since after the administration of former governor Adamu Muazu maintained that the present administration has failed and therefore need to be replaced immediately by a competent person, and that person according to him is Senator Bala Mohammad. At the campaign rally, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus received decampees from across political parties that includes former deputy governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Sagir Aminu Saleh, guber candidate of the ADC, Hajiya Baheejah Mahmood, former chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Bauchi, Alhaji Sanin Malam amongst others.
