Sulu-Gambari mourns Maitama Sule
The Emir of Ilorin and chairman of the Kwara state traditional council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has described the demise of the Danmasani’n Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, as a great loss to Nigerians and the international community.
The monarch stated this on Wednesday in llorin, the state capital in his condolence message.
The condolence message, which was signed by the national secretary of the Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, described the death of the elder statesman s a great loss.
The traditional ruler while, extolling the virtues of late Maitama Sule, recognized his sterling contributions to nation-building.
According to Sulu-Gambari, “Yusuf Maitama Sule lived a fulfilled life worth of emulation for the younger generations and the yet unborn ones. His death is a colossal loss to this nation.”
The royal father said Maitama Sule possesed leadership and diplomatic qualities that can transform Nigeria for the benefit of the downtrodden.
“He was a complete nationalist, devout Muslim, friend of the masses, administrator per excellence, fine politician and most importantly elder statesman.”
