State of emergency on education: Adamawa gov launches rebuilding mechanism

In an effort to rejig the state of education in Adamawa which the state government observed was in a sorry state, prompting it to declare a state of emergency in the sector, the state governor, Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, has visited the foremost secondary school in the state, Villa Nova Government College Numan, where he flagged off the rebuilding, rehabilitation and reconstruction of secondary schools across the state.
“We are going all round the schools in the state to rebuild, rehabilitate and construct all the dilapidated structures in the spirit of implementing the state of emergency in the sector,” Jibrilla stated
He emphasized that the state’s education must receive proper attention under his administration, and therefore, the education system must change because that is the only way he can prove he got the mandate to be a people-oriented governor since they are the ones that gave him the mandate.
Bindow reminded the people of Numan area that his regime will never relent in physical infrastructural projects as the local government area as the host of the only historic school, Villa Nova, which produced prominent people in the state.
Some of the prominent products of the school who accompanied the governor in launching the rebuilding scheme included, Sunny Sylvester Moniedafe, Prince Medan Fwa who are also officials of the school’s old boys association. He charged them to live above board and to give back to their alma mater.
