SPPG Public Leaders Network to Power Africa’s Future

The School of Politics, Policy & Governance (SPPG) has set out to re-engineer politics in Africa by training a new class of values-driven leaders equipped with the competence, character, and courage to govern differently.
The vision is set to be taking root through the SPPG Public Leaders Network (SPLN), a continent-wide platform designed to activate and empower values-driven leaders trained by the SPPG to drive governance outcomes that can transform Africa.
Speaking on the vision of SPLN, Alero Ayida-Otobo, Chief Executive Officer of SPPG Africa, emphasized the Network’s role as the next strategic step in advancing SPPG’s mission.
“The SPLN is a continent-wide leadership pipeline,” Ayida-Otobo said. “Our goal is to ensure that the disruptive-thinking political leaders trained by SPPG transition from learning into practice by contesting elections, shaping policy, and leading at the highest levels. Africa needs a new generation of principled leaders in legislative and executive offices, and the SPLN is designed to present electorates with top-quality choices for the future of governance.”
The SPLN Global Launch, scheduled for August 21, 2025, will be headlined by world-renowned economist and sustainable development leader Professor Jeffrey Sachs, who serves as Distinguished Honorary Global Faculty at the SPPG.
This milestone event will convene global thinkers, African reformers, and SPPG-trained leaders to spotlight the urgent need for values-based leadership in shaping Africa’s governance future.
With a fast-growing graduate base across Nigeria and the continent, the SPLN represents a critical leap in SPPG’s journey to restore trust in politics, reimagine governance, and power Africa’s transformation.
“With the SPLN, we are moving beyond training to ensuring our leaders have the support to run for office and govern effectively.” Ayida-Otobo added. “It is how we transform Africa’s leadership future” she added
