Sports promote social integration, national dev- FG

The federal government has declared sports as capable of promoting social integration and ensuring national development.
The Minister of State for Education, Professor Anthony Anwukah, who made the above declaration during the on-going 14th Edition of the Federal Government Colleges (FEDCOL) Games in Jos, Plateau State, also maintained that sports can foster peace and friendliness amongst people which was why it was organised on zonal basis to promote social integration and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.

Over 2490 students drawn from 104 Federal Government Colleges in the country are participating in the fiesta tagged ‘’14th Edition of the Federal Government Colleges (FEDCOL) Games’’ The game which is a five-day event is organised by the Federal Ministry of Education for the Federal Government Colleges in the country.
