Sports Ministry secretaries return to classroom

A 2-day seminar for National Sports Federations’ secretaries will commence today, April 11 and will end tomorrow, April 12th, 2017 at the Media Centre, Package A of the National Stadium Complex Abuja.

The seminar themed “Equipping National Sports Federations Secretaries for Effective Management” is an orientation course for the newly- appointed and old secretaries. The objective is to update them with the latest skills in the administration of the various federations ahead of the upcoming Federations elections.

The Director Federations and Elite Athletes Department, Mrs Hauwa Kulu-Akinyemi will deliver the opening paper on ‘History of Sports Sector in Nigeria’.
Resource persons will also present papers on ‘The General Principles and Practices of Work

Ethics for Secretaries-General in National Sports Federations’, ‘Strategies for Effective Sponsorship drive’, ‘Tournaments organization; secrets of success’, ‘Effective Communication in Sports Management’, ‘Creating, Building and Managing Brands’, ‘Using the New Media to reach the Target Audience’, ‘Doping Free Sports: Role of NSFs’ and ‘Preparation of Handover Notes’ (Sports Officers).

Certificates will be presented to the participants at the closing ceremony billed for Wednesday.
