Sheriff assures PDP members of level playing field

National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has assured that all members of the party will be given level playing field to realize their political ambition.
This is even as he declared that nobody will be allowed to play God within the party.
Sheriff said this on Wednesday when he received members of the Plateau state chapter of PDP who paid a courtesy visit to him at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
He assured the visitors that aggrieved members of the party will brought back to the fold of the party.
Sheriff reiterated that the direction the party will take will be decided by the people at the grassroots .
According to him, “You can’t force people to follow a leader they do not believe in. We are doing everything possible to bring all PDP members back. All those who believe in PDP will be given level playing field to realize their political ambition. Those seeking to destroy PDP will not be allowed.
“The people at the grassroots will determine the direction the PDP will go. We are here by the grace of the people. We didn’t force ourselves here”, he said.
Earlier, the leader of delegation and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bitrus Kaze harped on the need for Senator Sheriff to reconcile all members of the party.
Kaze also lauded the Governor of Bayelsa State and Chairman of PDP standing National Reconciliation committee over its recent report submitted to the party recently which recommended the conduct of a national convention of unity as well as supported political process to resolve the crisis within the party.
