Senator, Female Ex-Commissioner Attacked in Kano
The Senator representing Kano central constituency, Bashir Garba Lado, was on Saturday attacked at his Nassarawa polling centre by suspected followers of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Lado is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Also attacked was Kano’s former Commissioner for Agriculture Hajiya Baraka Sani.
The suspected party thugs chanted anti-PDP songs and declared their support for the APC.
Both Lado and Baraka managed to escape but Hajiya Baraka returned shortly with security personnel who escorted her to the polling centre where she cast her vote.
The senator did not return probably due to injuries he sustained during the attack.
