Senate sets to confirm MKO Abiola’s daughter Executive Director of NDIC

The Senate on Tuesday referred to its Committee on Banking confirmation of Hon. Omolola Abiola- Edewor, the first daughter of the late business mogul, Bashorun MKO Abiola as Executive Director (Corporate Services) of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

This followed the reading of a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari requesting the Senate to confirm her appointment.

Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan (Yobe North) has read the President’s letter in accordance with the provision of Section 5(4) of the NDIC Act.

President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki ruled that the request be sent to the Banking Committee for appropriate screening of the nominee.
