Senate confirms 13 for Federal Civil Service Commission, adjourns till Nov 6

The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of 13 persons as chairman and Commissioners of the Federal Civil Service Commission.
Their confirmation was consequent upon the consideration of a report of the Committee on Establishment and Public Service seeking the confirmation of the nominees of President Muhammadu Buhari.
While three of the commissioners – Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed (Kaduna), Prof. Aminu Dio Sheidu (Kogi) and Mr. Simon Etim (Akwa Ibom), had their appointments renewed, the other 10 had fresh appointments.
Confirmed as chairman of the Commission is Dr. Bello Tukur Ingawa (Katsina) while Moses Musa Ngbale (Adamawa), Waziri Umana Ngumo (Borno), Arch. Ahmed Sama (Kebbi) and Alh. Bello Mahmoud Babura (Jigawa) as commissioners.
Other commissioners confirmed are Princess Iyabode Odulate- Yusuf (Ogun), Shehu Umar Danyaya (Niger), Fatai Newton Adebayo (Oyo), Chief Ejoh Micheal Chukwuemeka (Anambra) and Joe Philip Poroma (Rivers).
The upper chamber on Wednesday adjourned plenary till Tuesday November 6, 2018.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said the short break will enable senators carry out oversight functions in their respective committees of the Senate.
The Daily Times, however, gathered that some of the lawmakers especially those that lost out in their parties primaries will utilise the couple of days to lobby other parties for return of tickets.
