Ordained men of God have been advised to ensure they live up to their calling in the vine yard of God.
The Senator representing Abia Central in the Senate, Theodore Ahamefula Orji stated this weekend at the Church of Christ, Bende Road, Umuahia during the church ordination of three Bishops and three Deacons, including his brother, Sylvanus M. Orjinta Orji,
advising the ordained to shepherd their members and the church as they expect and thanked the Evangelist in charge of the church, Samuel A. Kalu and members of the church over their efforts in nominating worthy members of the church for the ordination.
Earlier in his address, the Evangelist in charge of the church, Samuel A. Kalu disclosed that the occasion was the first batch ordination of Elders and deacons of the church, describing them as “talented men and women” of the church, adding, “We have no doubt that the church will wax stronger in stability unto the coming of Jesus Christ”.
Speaking with newsmen in his country home later, one of the ordained Bishops (Elder) and brother to Sen. T. A. Orji, Sylvanus M. Orjinta Orji described the ordination as the work of God, expressing his intention to work more to serve God and humanity, especially as an ordained member of the church.
He described his ordination also as a noble work to ensure that the church, its members and humanity go on well, and described politics as moving alongside religion, noting however that Nigeria is endowed with goodies from God and which if managed well by politicians, citizens will enjoy.
He advised others in his position to live up to expectation and work for the people.
A veteran journalist, Thomas Ejike Imo of the National Question newspaper was among those ordained Deacons.
