Sen. Orji congratulates Ohuabunwa, bemoans Ocholi’s death

Immediate past Governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Orji, has congratulated Senator Mao Ohuabunwa of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), on his hard fought victory in the March 5, 2016, Abia-North Senatorial election re-run.

Sen. Orji also expressed shock over the news of the sudden death of the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barrister, James Ocholi who died alongside his wife and son along Kaduna-Abuja road in a fatal motor accident on Sunday describing his death as colossal loss.

In a press release by his Media Adviser, Mr. Don Norman Obinna on Monday, Sen. Orji said the victory of Ohuabunwa reflects the collective wishes of the people of Abia North who desired nothing less than qualitative representation in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.

The former Governor who described Ohuabunwa as the best choice for the people of Abia North said they will benefit immensely from his wealth of experience adding that his vibrancy and legislative aptitude will match the people’s expectations and aspirations.

He thanked the people of Abia North for speaking with one voice even as he enjoined them to give Sen. Ohuabunwa their total support as he discharges his legislative duties.

Regretting the death of Barr Ocholi, his wife and son, Sen. Orji said the nation has lost not only a perfect gentleman and a leader, but also a woman of virtue and a sound tomorrow’s leader.

According to Orji, their death is irreparable and has certainly thrown the nation into mourning.

Describing Ocholi’s death as colossal loss, Orji further said, “We will miss him so dearly because he was not only a role model but a nation builder, a nationalist and a selfless politician, may his soul rest in peace. His death came at the time the nation needs his contribution the most.”

Orji however offered condolence to the family members of the deceased, the people and the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello and prayed that God will give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He also commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressive Congress (APC), adding that God will grant the souls of the departed eternal rest in his bosom.
