SAHCOL sets to expand operations Liberia, Ghana

The management of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) has concluded arrangements to expand its operations to Liberia and also Ghana in West Africa.

Speaking in an interview at the Accra Weizo event in Ghana, the vice chairman of SAHCOL, Mr. Chike Ogeah stated that, “we are going to be looking at the West African market, we want to start a new operation in Liberia, we are also planning to come and complement what they are doing here in Ghana.”

He said Liberia and Ghana is where the company is working for now to start a new operation as part of that West African collaboration.

Commenting on the air connectivity gap in West Africa, Ogeah noted that, “with the situation Nigeria finds itself now, I hope this Buhari government will be able to do it, let us chart a way forward and begin to institutionalised some good policies and reforms we want to see in critical sectors like the transportation sector”.

He said: “But like I said, necessity is the mother of all invention and I think that with the situation Nigeria finds itself now, I hope this Buhari Government will be able to do it, let us chart a way forward and begin to institutionalise the kind of policies and reforms we want to see in critical sectors like the transportation sector. These are the kind of sectors you cannot afford to politise at all, they have to be professionalised, get people who are professionals to run them at least people who understand what the industry entails, that I think is the first thing for us to go forward”.
