Rivers United can fly in the Caf Champions League, says Chiwendu

The defender believes with determination and focus the Pride of Port Harcourt will become a force to be reckoned with in Africa’s premier club competition

Rivers United defender,  Ali Chiwendu is confident that the Port Harcourt outfit can fly high on the continent.

The Pride of Port Harcourt will represent Nigeria alongside Enugu Rangers in the 2017 Caf Champions League and left back Ali Chiwendu has sized up the chances of Stanley Eguma’s side.

“We are on break now and we are enjoying every bit of the holiday. When Rivers United debut in the NPFL last season not many people gave us a chance but they have forgotten that the quality in a team is very important,”

“We experience in all department in the team same as on the bench. I believe that with focus, determination and confidence , Rivers United can fly high in the Caf Champions League.”

Enyimba FC and Warri Wolves represented represented Nigeria the competition on 2016, with the two time African champions making it to the group stage,
