Recession: Baba Aladura Onyeleonu urged Christians to intercede for the country

His Most Eminence, Baba Aladura, Elder Lazarus Onyeleonu, has urged Christians to pray for God’s mercy to remove the recession and restore the country’s buoyant economy.
Similarly, he called on the Christians worldwide to shun violence and imbibe good character that would promote unity and peace.

Baba Aladura Onyeleonu stated this on Sunday while addressing the congregation in Abuja on the importance of 40 day lent which will commence on Tuesday, 7 March for members of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim (ESOCS),Church Worldwide.

Elder Onyeleonu’s message was delivered by the Chairman of ESOCS Church Abuja Province, Special Senior Apostle Idika-Kalu Uma, at a preparatory wilderness combined service in Garki, Abuja.

He noted that the current hardship would not recede by mere physical efforts but by the grace of Almighty God, adding that true Christians must intercede for the country economic revival .

Elder Onyeleonu said that the lent period offered opportunity for atonement of our sins and to thoroughly seek God forgiveness. He expressed optimism that the country would soon be out of the wood adding that this period also called for prudent management of scare resources.

Baba -Aladura Onyeleonu said that it is important for Christians to continue to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari who is recuperating in United Kingdom for quick recovery.

Christians should not relent in mercy prayers for the country, especially for the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo , governors, ministers, commissioners and all those in positions of authority for God guidance because only His will shall prevail,he said.

Specifically addressing members of the ESOCS Church, the Baba Aladura noted that the church observe the annual 40 days lent with reverence and mercy prayers.

He urged members of the Church to ensure that they follow the doctrine of the church in observing the lent particularly the evening services that run through the period and end at good Friday wilderness prayer.
