Our Reasons For Annual Arbaeen Symbolic Trek – IMN

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shiite said it has commenced this year’s annual Arbaeen symbolic trek from Kano for the zone which includes Kano, Kaduna, Funtua, Pambequa, Malumfashi and Birnin Gwari.
Explaining the essence of the trek, the coordinator of the trek, Nasir Mansur, at a press conference in Kaduna, yesterday said, “The Arbaeen trek is a religious duty incumbent on all supporters of the holy household of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) as a sign of solidarity. It is a response to a clarion call made by Imam Hussain (AS) the grandson of the Prophet (S) on the plains of Karbala some 1400 years ago. Which credible narrations from the Prophets (S) enjoined the faithful to respond to even if it were to be by crawling.
“Trekking depicts how members of the captives moved from Karbala to Damascus after killing Imam Hussain (AS).”
