Ramadan: Masari’s wife donates 300 bags of rice to women groups

Wife of the Katsina state Governor, Hajiya Zakiyya Masari has presented 300 bags of rice and other essential commodities to women groups in Daura Local Government Area in the spirit of the Ramadan.
The governor’s wife who presented the items to representatives of 110 registered women groups in the area, said the gesture was aimed at providing succor to them as Ramadan fasting continues.
Other items donated to the women groups include, 300 cartons of macaroni, 200 packets of spaghetti, 100 kg of millet and 700 sachets of milk.
The governor’s wife urged the women to make judicious use of the items, saying that the beneficiaries include, local Hisbah committee members, women Da’awah groups among others selected for their immense contribution to their communities.
She added that the state government would continue to promote the welfare of the people, irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation.
Responding, Chairman, Daura Local Government, Alhaji Abba Mato thanked the governor’s wife for the gesture and prayed that God will reward her good action.
He called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items by utilizing them for themselves and their families to justify the purpose for which it was meant.
The APC Women Leader, Hajiya Hafsat Jibril expressed gratitude to the governor’s wife for her support to women in the area irrespective of their political leanings.
She assured that women in the area would continue to support the good policies and programmes of the government for the accelerated development of the state, stressing that Gov. Masari’s administration has done so much for women through its youth empowerment programmes.
