Presidential aide, Engr. Jennifer Adighije’s commendable strides

Engr. Jennifer Adighije, the Senior Special Assistant(SSA) to President Bola Tinubu on Entrepreneurship Development in Communications Innovation & Digital Economy has got off to a good start in her current role as one of President Tinubu’s senior presidential aides.

Engr. Adighije is saddled with the responsibility of helping the President actualize his vision of creating two million jobs by 2025. The presidential aide who is serving in the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, under the supervision of Dr. Bosun, the Honourable Minister in charge has teamed up with other stakeholders including the National Information Technology Development Agency(NITDA) to execute the three million technical talent programme, better known as 3MTT aimed at building Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to power the digital economy and most importantly, position Nigeria as a net talent exporter.

According to available information on NITDA’s website, for the phase of the programme, 12 technical skills will be focused on: Software Development, UI/UX Design, Data Analysis and visualization, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Data Science, Animation, AI/Machine Learning, Cyber security, Game Development, Cloud Computing, and Dev Ops.

The first phase of the programme will involve multiple stakeholders including fellows, training providers and partners. According to NITDA “We will select individuals with interest in specific skills and fund the cost of their training with training providers accepted into the programme”.

In a solidarity move, Engr Adighije paid a visit to the NITDA where she threw her weight behind the 3MTT. Highlighting the benefits of the programme, the senior presidential aide said apart from being a free programme, the 3MTT is also in line with the National Digital Literacy framework and digital transformation plans of Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovatiion & Digital Economy.

Summarily, she said that the long-term benefit is that we are building a pool of digital assets that can position our country as a global destination of choice for digital services and a net exporter of tech talents. According to her, Nigeria is already competing actively globally and shaping the future of tech in Africa.

And this was affirmed by Mr. Blinkken, the U.S Secretary of State during his last visit and same was also acknowledged by Sir. Nick Clegg during his recent interaction with President Tinubu.

No doubt, Engr. Adighije is one of the powerful women in President Tinubu’s government. In less than twelve months in office, she has organized a few ground breaking initiatives including the one for women-based small scale business owners and entrepreneurs. She’s currently in the frontline of activities aimed at ensuring the successful execution of the 3MTT programme. An epitome of beauty and brain, Engr. Adighije is proving to be a key player in the actualization of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
