Pray for Buhari’s quick recovery, Obaseki urges Nigerians

Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has called on Nigerians to pray for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari and his safe return back home to continue his change agenda to take Nigeria to greater heights.
He made the call while receiving executive members of the Buhari Youth Organization (BYO) who paid him a courtesy visit in Government House Benin City and installed him as the Grand Patron of the group.
Obaseki, who was represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon, Philip Shaibu, extoled the leadership qualities of President Buhari and expressed delight with the discipline he has brought into governance, adding that everybody is now very careful in the approach to duties and businesses, especially now that the country is going through restructuring after many years of misrule.
He said change cannot be drastic, saying that the change is gradual after passing through long years of misrule and dependability on oil, the system became complacent that we all now depend on oil money. “It got so bad that all that comes to mind is share the money, governance was practically reduced to a place where money is shared.
That is what has brought us to the present level where we have found ourselves as a nation today. It is good we enlighten the people that the era of share the money is far gone and it must never return to our body polity.”
“I want to acknowledge that times are hard and it is a repercussion of the misrule of past leadership. Nigeria is going through restructuring politically and economically and we need to be patient and pray for the quick recovery of our President.”
According to Shaibu, “for us in Edo state, we are lucky to have a governor that has all the needed contacts in the investment world and he is ready to use those connections to make the state next to Lagos in terms of economic developments and investment opportunities.”
He said the setting up of a Technical Committee for the development of Gelegele to a sea port will further open up the state for economic developments and create employment opportunities for the teeming youths. He hinted that in the next few days, agricultural activities will commence in the state as land will be prepared for the next farming season, saying that governor Obaseki has used his contacts to get ready buyers for the produce.
The high point of the event was the installation of Governor Obaseki as the Grand Patron of the Buhari Youth Organization, Edo State chapter.
