Polytechnic lecturer’s wife arraigned over Ochanya

Mrs. Felicia Ogbuja, wife of Andrew Ogbuja, the Benue State Polytechnic lecturer who was accused of severally raping late 13-year old Ochanya Oganje until her death has been arraigned by the Nigerian government.

Unitl her death, Ogbanje lived with the Ogbuja family’. The lecturer and his son were said to have engaged the girl in forced sex for five years until she died in October, 2018, due to Vesico Virginal Fistula (VVF), an infection said to have resulted from years of sexual abuses.

Felicia was arraigned at a Federal High Court in Benue State for her alleged involvement in the events that preceded the death of the teenager.
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) accused her of aiding the rape of Miss Ogbanje during her stay at their residence.

The agency had accused the woman of allowing the persistent rape of the late victim to continue, through her silence after the crime was brought to her notice. She was arraigned on a two-count charge for the alleged offence.
