Police/Army Joint Operation: Abia CP discloses findings

Abia State Police Command at the weekend disclosed that a double barrel gun, IPOB vital documents, other sensitive materials were found in Nnamdi Kanu’s home during the recent joint operation between it and army at the residence of the IPOB leader.

Speaking to select journalists at the Police Officers Mess Umuahia, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Anthony Michael Ogbizi, said the joint operation was sequel to intelligence reports gathered during period under review,

confirming that training of Biafra Security Service (BSS) was founded in an uncompleted building closed to the vicinity.

The Commissioner of Police recalled on assumption of office on September 14, 2017 on the heat of the clash, it was difficult for him to meet with press

and unfold his action plans for the state in the area of crime control just as he assured the media of his readiness to partner with them to achieve the desired goals in the state.

He observed that the state is one of the cardinal points that was so dare to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, hence necessary measures must be taken to avoid any break down of law and order.

Ogbizi said the interaction was aimed at re-appraising the operation’s performance, pointing out that his command will soon embark on a town hall meeting with Students Union,

the Youths and stakeholders in the state to curtail crimes such as kidnap, child traffic, armed robbery and other violent acts which he said have drastically reduced in Abia.

On last Wednesday confusion that was triggered in the state over the alleged “Military Monkey pox Injection” leading to closure of schools, the Police boss appealed to parents to stop panic just as he urged them to allow their wards go to school, noting that unnecessary tension is uncalled for in the state.
