Police nab 3 robbery suspects in Delta community

The police in Owa Oyibu Community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta state have arrested three robbery suspects for allegedly robbing a female student identified as Chukwudi Stella of her cell phone and an unspecified amount of money.

According to the police, detectives recovered 16 stolen mobile handsets from the suspects.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Owa Oyibu Policemen Division, Monday Osayi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects to journalists in Asaba, said the suspects were nabbed based on intelligence received, adding that the suspects upon interrogation confessed to the crime

Osayi stated that “the state acted on intelligence gathering after the student was robbed and her handset and money were taken away from her by the robbery suspects.

One of the suspects identified as Mukato Goodluck led the police to the hideout of his two other accomplices where they were arrested.

He disclosed that apart from the handsets recovered from the suspects, the police also recovered from them two cut to size guns and charms tied into different foods.

In another development, members of the Motorcycle Dealers Association in lka North East Local Government Area have affirmed their determination to partner with various law enforcement agencies to check incidences of motorcycle theft in the locality.

Chairman of the association, Nnamdi Njoekpumeogor, who spoke to journalists said based on various measures introduced, some persons were arrested and subsequently, handed over to the police, adding that the association will work with the police to rid the locality of criminals.
