Police Hunt Two Women Over Alleged Same-Sex Act in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has launched a serious manhunt for two women who narrowly escaped lynching after they were allegedly caught indulging in same-sex activities in a private residence in the Badore area of Eti-Osa local government area of the State.

According to the command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin the suspects identified as Joy Ehizojie, 33 and Sonia Erabhahiemhen, 34 reportedly escaped lynching when an alarm raised by one Victor Okojie attracted residents of the area.

Mr. Hundeyin further stated that the complainant Victor reported to police that he had returned home from work only to meet his wife Sonia Erabhahiemhen engaging in same-sex act with one Joy in his room at Badore Cooperative Villa, Lagos, last Tuesday.

The police spokesman while disclosing that the command has initiated full scale investigation into the incident vowed that the duo will be arrested and made to face prosecution as they risk 14 years imprisonment under the Nigerian Anti Same-sex Law of 2014.

He, however appealed to members of the public to be vigilant and report to the nearest police station nationwide whenever the fleeing suspects are seen.

Contacted, the complainant Mr. Victor Okojie said as a muslim, he had also reported the matter to a Sharia court, citing his faith’s prohibition of such acts.

Meanwhile, our correspondent visit to Falorin Street and its environs revealed a tense atmosphere as some residents expressed eagerness to unleash violence on the suspects who they claimed had committed abomination in their locality.
