Police burst Boko Haram’s cells in Kano, arrest 53

As part of efforts to clear Kano of possible Boko Haram insurgents the Kano State Police Command has said it has burst a sleeper cell suspected to be operated by the terrorists in a joint operation.
In the last few weeks the state Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has raised the alarm that the state is witnessing influx of the insurgents who have been dislodged from the North East.
However, in to curb this, the police, Civil Defence Corps, Hisbah and vigilante members swung into action arresting sweeping black spots in the metropolis and arresting 53 Boko Haram suspects following credible intelligence.
Police Public Relations Officer of Kano Command, DSP Magaji Musa Majiya told reporters, while parading 840 suspected arrested across several hide outs within the city, that 53 of those arrested are suspected Boko Haram members who are from the North-east.
He said already the 53 suspects are undergoing serious interrogation and they are fully co-operating.
