PMAN resolves leadership crisis, sets up caretaker c’ttee

Minister of Labour and employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has urged the new caretaker committee of the performing musicians associations of Nigeria, to use its leadership to create wealth to its numerous members nation-wide.

He said this when inaugurating the new care-taker committee of the PMAN, which has been engulfed in wrangling before now.

According to the Minister, his administration, had received reports of its negotiation process and had decided to set up the care-taker committee that would help pilot the affairs of the body pending when proper peace would return to the association.

He said that “in order to work out your peace plan, the committee, must adopt the system of democracy, which is the government of musicians by  musicians and for musicians”

Ngige, noted that the care-taker committee was drawn from both warring parties, to allow clear representation of the bodies. “If you form a strong union, it will fetch you government recognition and revenue base. It will create employment to the musicians and the generations next, so the Labour ministry needs your body to be strong”.
