Pleasant Surprises Await Nigerians…

To the brand of men who can look into the womb of time and see which seeds will grow, the presidential poll tomorrow is already lost and won.The Founder and General Overseer of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele Babatunde belongs to that breed. He spoke to YEMI OGUNSOLA who now reports what is publishable… for now.
He knows the next president; and he mentioned names. But of course, that is not for public consumption — yet.
It is true though that a prophecy loses much of its respectability when it is disclosed only after it has allegedly come to pass. The primate however, advises that the announcement of the results be delayed for two or three days to let tension go down.

But won’t that heighten tension the more?
He did not think so.
He warned too that if care is not taken, President Goodluck Jonathan, may be the last president of Nigeria:
“Nigeria will break, he added,“but not now.” Perhaps to avoid being alarmist, he gives a long time frame of “within the next 50 years.” Reminded that that time frame hardly qualifies as “prophecy” since within such a long time, many things are naturally expected to happen, his response was that the fulfilment of such prophecy can come any moment from the time of prediction.
“Qui sera sera” (What will be will be), he said, cryptically. Insisting repeatedly that he has no opinion of his own other than what God tells or shows him, he declared:“I am not a politician, I don’t dabble into politics but as a prophet, God has shown me a lot about Nigeria.
It is what he shows me that I say,” But he was emphatic that the “next” president will surprise Nigerians with very positive actions that will gladden the hearts of the citizenry. “But in that regime, many issues will crop up that will lead to agitations…the presidential system of government may be dropped.”
Far ahead, the prophet sees a revolution that will be heralded by another major confab. “I am seeing a revolution that will take us to the next level; that will make everyone have a sense of belonging, but I don’t know when it will happen.” Nigeria, he said may not begin to work optimally until it is partitioned into regions as opposed to the states that we have now.
The Boko Haram menace will end, but it’snot going to be easy, adding however, that: “There is a purpose for terrorists in Nigeria. “There is a lot of lessons to learn from it. It’s a global problem.” He urges Nigerians to pray fervently against attempts to take the insurgency to the South-West.
According to him, he had been in prayers over Nigeria for 45 days and would continue till April 11. He had not bathed in the last seven days and that state would extend to another seven days. On account of what he considered his unkempt look, he refused to be photographed indicating his overgrown beards, and “tired” attire.
That, he says, is what it takes to be a prophet. “A prophet is different from a pastor or evangelist or deacon,” he added with a hint of pride. On the naira and oil price, Primate Ayodele’s prophecy are heartening. There will be marked improvements in both. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, he said was in his last lap in Nigeria’s politics.
The regular accompaniments of Nigerian elections— rigging, pockets of clashes— will be there alright. But they will not be as violent as feared. “The elections will hold, though there will be re-runs in some areas.” He warns about the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, “He must be carefully watched because he has a mission…”
