#PlateauDecides2019: Over 10 political parties endorsed Gov. Lalong, assures for victory on saturday 9

The Deputy Chairman of Media, Publicity and Protocol Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Campaign Council in Plateau state, Barr. Festus Fuanter, has confirmed that over ten political parties have endorses Gov. Simon Lalong for the Saturday’s governorship race, and expresses determinations to deliver at the poll.
According to him, ‘Plateau APC has also expressed confidence that Gov. Lalong will be re-elected together with all candidates of the state House of Assembly contestants’.
Briefing Journalists on Thursday in Jos, Mr Festus Fuanter also said the results of the Presidential election showed that APC has gained more ground in Plateau.
Speaking through the Campaign Council spokesperson, Mr. Jonathan Ishaku, Fuanter said the 10 political parties has found no better candidate than the state governor.
“We are very optimistic that Governor Simon Lalong will sweep the Governorship election on Saturday. This is because of his achievements since he assumed office in 2015. He has being up-to-date with the payment of salaries and pension, this has endeared Plateau people to his administration.”
The Lalong Deputy Chairman Media and Publicity also discarded the allegations that APC has planned to rig the Governorship election in the state and said those who are peddling such allegations are already nursing defeat.
“Workers’ right has earned him special mention even from such hard-to-please quarters as the National Labour Congress, whose President publicly acknowledged Governor Lalong as the one Governor in Nigeria who pays the salary of civil servants as and when due.
“On the other hand the PDP candidate comes to the race with a lot of questionable baggage from the past. These are things he has refused to discuss with Plateau people. He even avoided a public debate and also avoids probing press interviews like a plague.
“We had expected that the PDP candidate would use the auspices of his Press Conference he addressed
yesterday to answer some of these vexing public concerns but his numbered-point presentation was
bland as usual.
“In the place of this reticence, the PDP has devised a fear-mongering strategy of crying wolf in its chain of endless press releases. All you hear from them is “APC is rigging this, APC is rigging that.
“There is no closure, none whatsoever on the character of their candidate nor the content of the programmes. But be assured that Plateau people are no fools and they will give their verdict in a couple of days’ time”, Fuanter said.
