Plateau: Atiku wins Buhari with 80,100 votes

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday’s presidential election in Plateau state with a total of 80,100 votes. The result was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Jos at the presidential collation centre. The PDP Atiku Abubakar scored a total of 548,655 to beat his opponent President Mohammadu Buhari of the APC who scored 468,555 votes. Our correspondent reports that PDP won 11 council areas which includes  Mikang, Kanke, Pankshin, Langtang South, Jos South, Riyom, Bokkos, Langtang North, Barkin Ladi, Mangu, Riyom and Bassa LGA’s, while the APC worn 6 LGAs of Jos East, Qua’an Pan, Shendam, Wase,  Kanam and Jos North local government areas. However 93,000 votes were cancelled from the PDP strong hold of Tudunwada/Kabong ward in Jos north LGA.
