PHOTO: Buhari celebrates Daily Times full return to newsstands

President Muhammadu Buhari celebrates with the Publisher of Daily Times, Mr. Fidelis Anosike on the full return of the pioneer newspaper (Daily Times of Nigeria) to newsstands.

This happened in a short meeting section by the president with the major newspaper publishers in the country.

The Dailytimes Nigeria is the first nigerian newspaper with headquarters in Lagos.  It was at its peak, in the 1970s, it was one of the most successful locally owned businesses in Africa.

The Daily Times Nigeria was incorporated on 6 June 1925 by Richard Barrow, Adeyemo Alakija and others. The first printed copy was titled “The Nigerian Daily Times” on 1 June 1926.
