PDP woos South east victory group for Buhari

Following the massive in-road already made by the South-East Victory Group for Buhari in the South –East, the group has come under serious pressure by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East to change course. The Co-ordinator of the Group, Engr. Wilfred Okeke said in a press statement that “all sorts of mouth- watering offers are being dangled by the PDP before the Group, even its State Co-ordinators in the South –East are being enticed with monetary offers”. According to Engr. Okeke, the alleged pressure on the Group by the PDP is evidence of the success already recorded in the zone for President Buhari’s victory in the South-East once perceived as a fortress for the opposition party, PDP. He said that the group has resolved to ignore the PDP with “its monetary offers and focus instead on the onerous task of delivering the South -East completely for President Buhari in the February 16th 2019 presidential election and by so doing place the South-East in the centre where it rightly belongs”. According to Engineer Okeke, “The group’s position is that these past four years of being in the opposition and antagonistic to the federal government headed by President Muhammadu Buhari has yielded little or nothing for the South-East in the form of dividends of democracy, hence the need for the South-East to change direction in the forth- coming general election”.
