PDP wins Isoko South, North state assembly seats in Delta

The Isoko South and North state constituency candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state for the state House of Assembly seats, Kenneth Ogba, and Chief Ferguson Onwo have won their elections.

According to the returning officer who announced the results, Dr. Ignatius Ezeom, the PDP candidate for Isoko South state Constituency, Kenneth Ogba scored 15, 973 votes to defeat his closet rival, a former member of the state assembly, Okiemute Essien of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who scored 7, 323 votes while Chief Ferguson Onwo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated Isreal Umueri of the All Progressive Congress (APC) with 27, 753 votes, and 6, 936 votes.

Dr. Ezeom said that the PDP scored a total of 43, 730 votes to defeat the All Progressive Congress which scored 14, 259 votes in the gubernatorial elections, adding that the election results were a true reflection of the people’s will.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East state Constituency, Chief Ivwurie Evance has lost his re-election bid to represent the people of Ethiope East Constituency at the state House of Assembly.

Announcing the results, the returning officer, Dr. Ignatius Ezeom, said that Ivwurie scored a total votes of 12, 039 while the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Chief Innocent Anidi who polled a total votes of 19, 724 votes

But PDP chieftains in the area who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity, said Ivwurie deserved a second term and alleged massive rigging by the APC who prior to elections threatened to defeat Ivwurie.
