PDP releases time-table for Kogi, Bayelsa gov’ship polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released time table of activities for the November 16, 2019 governorship election in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
This was as the party raised the nomination fee from N5 million to N20 million while the fee for Expression of Interest form remains N1 million.
The party also fixed governorship primaries in both states for October 3.
These were part of decisions taken at the 86th National Executive Council meeting of the PDP on Thursday at its Wadata Plaza, Abuja national secretariat.
Briefing the press at the end of the meeting, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the tenure of the Kogi State executive of the party will end on July 22 while a caretaker Committee will be put in place pending the election of a new executive.
In the time table signed by PDP National Organising Secretary, Col Austin Akobundu (rtd), sales of nomination and expression of interest forms commences on June 24 and ends on July 24, while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will publish notice of election on August 18.
Governorship aspirants in both states will be screened on August 19 while appeal on screening will be heard on August 21.
Campaign for elections will end on Thursday November 14.
