PDP accuses APC of frustrating Imo North election tribunal hearing
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded Imo North senatorial election in Imo State, Mr Athan Achonu, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of a deliberate attempt to frustrate and truncate the hearing and determination of the petition.
Mr Achonu made this accusation following the announcement by the secretary of the Tribunal that the panel had been disbanded and a new panel would soon be set up by the president of the Appeal Court.
Briefing reporters in the state’s capital, Owerri, the Director General of the Athan Achonu Campaign Organisation, Pauly Udechukwu, said they still believe and have confidence in the judiciary and that it would right the wrongs done before, during and after the senatorial rerun and supplementary elections.
He expressed hopes that the disbandment of the panel was not being influenced by the APC in the state.
