Oyo police vow to fish out lawmaker’s killers

Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Leye Oyebade has ordered an immediate investigation into the death of Hon. Tunji Aremu, a member of Oyo state House of Assembly who was murdered by unknown gunmen in his house at Alakia, Ibadan, on Friday.
Hon. Gideon Aremu, a member of Oyo State House of Assembly from Oorelope Federal constituency, was murdered in his house on Friday while returning from an event.
Oyebade, who was at the deceased house on Friday said the command will ensure that the culprits are found and face the wrath of law, and urged members of the public with any useful information about the incident to please give the police with a pledge that such person will not be exposed.
While condoning the family of the deceased, Oyebade assured them that the ‘assailant will not go free, we are going to investigate and find them, just take heart and accept our condolences.’
The Commissioner, however, reiterate his commitment to provide adequate security for lives and property in the state.
Meanwhile, colleagues of the deceased at the state Assembly, have decried the murder of the Honourable member and Chairman, Oyo state House of Assembly committee on Information.
