Oyinlola wants to be a 'preacher' of gospel

 


The Former governor of Osun state Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola,has appealed to the Federal Government to increase its investment in education sector.

Oyinlola said this during his matriculation with other students of the National Open University of Nigeria, Osogbo study centre.

The former Peoples Democratic Party national secretary who retired from the military as a Brigadier General applied for Post Graduate Diploma in Theology.‎

According to him, he chose the course ‎”to know more about God and probably become a preacher of gospel”.

He said the poor funding of universities and other educational institutions is responsible for their low ranking.‎

Oyinlola added, “The Federal Government should invest more in the education sector. It is a critical sector which must be given attention for any nation to develop.

“Nigeria will be greater if we invest more in the education sector and Nigerian universities will rank among the best in the world with the proper funding of the sector.”

‎The Post Graduate student decried the poor attitude of Nigerians toward public education instititutions.

He opined that the attitude must be changed to give room for public institutions to improve.

While speaking on the adoption of card readers by Independent National Electoral Commission, Oyinlola said, “Using the device will go a long way in sanitising the system and ensure that the polls is credible.‎”

The Centre Director of NOUN in Osun State, Dr. Yemisi Pitan charged the matriculating students to focus on their studies and be good ambassadors of the institution.
