Ooni’s grand-mother for burial Saturday
The remains of Olori Marian Ogunwusi, the grand-mother of Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, will be interred in the ancient city of Ile-Ife on Saturday.
It will be recalled that the late matriarch of Ogunwusi Royal family and wife of late Prince Joseph Ogunwusi died on Febuary 8, at the age of 104.
She was survived by a child Prince Oluropo Ogunwusi, father of Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II and grand-children – including London- based Prince Adegboyega Ogunwusi and Adetunji Ogunwusi.
A statement by Comrade Moses Olafare, Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace read, “The funeral activities will on Friday 22nd April 2016 begin with a service of songs at Oduduwa College Ile-Ife by 4:30pm to be followed by the funeral service 11am on Saturday 23rd April 2016at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church,Aiyegbaju, Ile-Ife, while her remains will be interred at the church cemetery with reception and entertainment for the invited guests at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Ground, Phase 2, Gate, Ile-Ife.”
