ONDO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: GROUP CALLS FOR CAUTION AS CALLS FOR POSTPONEMENT GROWS

The growing calls for the postponement of the Ondo state governorship election is one that will be a major infringement on the provisions of the 2010 electoral act as amended. National Coordinator of the Election Monitor, Abiodun Ajijola while speaking at the public presentation of the 2016 Ondo state governorship election observation and research guide says the calls have no basis in law and that the election management body should reject it.

Speaking at the public presentation of the Observation and research guide for the 2016 Ondo State Governorship election, national coordinator of the election monitor, says the document is a goldmine of information not only for observers of the Ondo state governorship election but also journalists with the most minute of information on the election in the document. He adds that the election monitor will continue to produce such documents to aid the nations’ electoral process.

He slams those calling for the postponement of the Governorship election in Ondo state over the crisis within the PDP describing it as a having no basis in law.
