Okowa condoles Channelstv as Onuekwusi dies at 55

Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has commiserated with the management and staff of Channels Television on the death of State House Correspondent, Chukwuma Onuekwusi who died at 55 in the early hours of Tuesday May 23, 2017.

In a statement on Wednesday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu Gov. Okowa said he received the news of the death of Mr. Onuekwusi with great shock.

The Governor noted that the late Chukwuma Onuekwusi, a veteran journalist will be remembered for his good character, embedded candour, manifest brilliance, and fecundity reporting of events at the State House.

He described Mr. Onuekwusi’s death as a great loss, not only to Channelstv, the Onuekwusi family but also to the entire viewers of the leading news television station.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I commiserate with the Management and staff of Channels Television on the demise of Mr. Chukwuma Onuekwusi.

“We pray God to grant his soul eternal rest as He grants the family and the children the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”the statement said.
