Okorocha unveils successor in May
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, last weekend, disclosed that his successor will be unveiled in May this year from the All Progress Congress to avoid the mistakes of his predecessors where they were unable anoint their successors.
Okorocha, who made the disclosure while interacting with newsmen in Owerri stated that at least four names would be selected from each of the three senatorial zones of the state including a woman for public scrutiny.
According to him, the idea is to enable the public and the media to beam their searchlight on the possible candidate that may emerge as their governorship candidate before 2019 general election.
Okorocha dismissed the zoning arrangement in the state saying that at end of his tenure in 2019, the Orlu zone where he comes from must have governed the state for 16 years.
He insisted that only the best and credible candidate the party would be picked irrespective of his or her zone.
He therefore warned aspirants from state who is above 50 years of age to seek for other political office as the party would not allow such aspirant to scale through.
Okorocha lwho listed some possible governorship aspirants from Owerri zone to include his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, SSG, Sir. Jude Ejiogu, Chief Jerry Chukwueke, Mr.Theo Ekechi, Uche Onyeaguocha and Mrs. Ugochi Nnanna Okoro.
