Ohaneze’s endorsement seals Atiku’s victory, says for APC presidential aspirant

A former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Party (APC) Chief Charles Udoka Udeogaranya has predicted victory for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 16, 2019 presidential election. Udeogaranya who defected from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in December last year, was reacting to the news of the official endorsement of the candidacy of the PDP’s presidential candidate for the election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by the Ohaneze, the umbrella socio-cultural organisation of the Igbo race worldwide. “Many political pundits don’t always consider that Ndigbo block support, automatically gives any presidential candidate about 25 percent of the two third of the 36 States and FCT, which satisfies the one leg of winning a presidential contest, due to their national spread. “With the Ohaneze’s endorsement of which I participated in, without any form of inducement and without rancour, saw the seven states of Ndigbo home land, namely; Abia, Anambra, Delta (Anioma) Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers (Ndigbo Areas), all endorsed Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, beating President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress – APC, 7 : 0. In the football parlance, we chant it, seven kpondo! He said that Ndigbo, being very industrious and successful people are never comfortable with poverty when they know that what to do to make life better. “Ndigbo hate poverty. They are industrious people that should not have anything with hunger or economic failure as we have in the country today. Therefore, with Ohaneze’s endorsement of Atiku, Ndigbo have unequivocally demonstrated their total rejection of poverty oriented policies of the Buhari’s administration which has made Nigeria the poverty headquarters of the world,” he said. “Historically, Ndigbo are always ashamed to be identified with failure and poverty which is why they work hard in order to escape poverty. By endorsing Atiku, Ndigbo have decided to support and vote for thriving economy, for massive employment, for industrialisation as well as prosperity,” Udeogaranya said. While congratulating Ohaneze leadership for the bold step to endorse Atiku and his running mate, Peter Obi, he encouraged Atiku not to res in his oars until total victory is achieved. “All Atiku needs now is to maintain his national lead and if possible, increase his lead over Buhari on majority votes. “I therefore say congratulations to Ohaneze on your endorsement of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate. By this action, you have demonstrated that you genuinely represent Ndiigbo and have provided uncommon quality leadership by speaking the mindset of Ndigbo as well as well meaning Nigerians.
