Ohaneze youths beg S’East govs to campaign for IPOB’s non-proscription

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) while reacting to the resolution of the recent meeting of the South East governors under the platform of the South East Governors Forum, urged them (governors) to make efforts to ensure that the federal government reverses the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization.

A statement by the National President of Ohaneze Youth Council, Comrade Igboayaka Igboayaka, made available to newsmen in Owerri at the weekend, commended the governors for their prompt response towards the security challenges in the region, but however, asked for more proactive measures to wipe out criminal elements in the South East geopolitical zone

The youth council stated that it was not enough for the governors to deny knowledge of ‘Operations Python Dance’ until the operations were already started in the states, but the governors should take steps to delist the proscription of IPOB,

The youth group urged the governors to commence legal action against the federal government and its military for committing genocide against the people of the South East through the ‘Operation Python Dance’.

The group also called on the governors to demand from the federal government commence national burial for those that lost their lives in the military operation and give compensation to the families of the deceased .

“The leadership of the Ohanaeze Youth Council has always made case in many fora for the rehabilitation of the Onne, Bonny and Calabar seaports and the dredging of potential seaports in the region such as the Osemoto and Oseakwa, Azumini, Obeaku and Ibaka rivers which has the capability of further developing and straightening the economic growth of the region,” the council added.
