Ogun police arrest 2 robbery suspects

Men of the Ogun state Police Command have arrested two robbery suspects, Ayomide Joseph (19) and Olajide Ajisomo (20) for robbing two brothers at gun point.

The suspects were arrested following a report lodged at Mowe Police Station, by one Adegoke Sodipe, who reported that while he was coming from Lagos with his brother, they were attacked at Ikugbonmire Junction, Mowe by three armed robbery suspects.
The victim claimed they were dispossessed of their personal belongings which included an Infinix phone valued at N25,000, UBA ATM card and So-safe Corps identity card.
According to the spokesperson for the police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the victims raised alarm which attracted passers-by and one of the hoodlums was apprehended by members of the public.
“Upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Mowe, Marvis, quickly dispatched his detectives to the scene where the arrested member of the gang was handed over to the police.
“Having taken possession of the suspect, the operatives embarked on intelligence based investigation which led to the arrest of the second suspect. A locally made double barrel shot gun was recovered from them.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for discreet investigation.
“He equally reiterated the readiness of the command to clampdown on any would be criminal within the state, as the command will not allow any hoodlum to subject the good people of the state to any form of mental and psychological torture during and after this trying period,” the police said.
