Ogboru will throw Okowa out of Government House in 2019, says Ogodo

An aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly to represent Sapele State Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Moses Ogodo, has said that the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state, Chief Great Ogboru would throw Governor Ifeanyi Okowa out of Government House, Asaba come 2019.

“The performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has enhanced the chances of Chief Great Ogboru in the 2019 governorship election. Ogboru will defeat Okowa in 2019”

Ogodo who is seeking to take over from former Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Monday Igbuya said he was motivated to join the Sapele State Constituency race in order to ensure effective representation. “The people should expect good representation,” he said.

Describing the crisis in the Delta State chapter of the APC as a ‘family affair’ while speaking with newsmen in Sapele, Ogodo said, “The internal problem will not affect APC’s chances in 2019.

APC will definitely take over Delta State in 2019. The people that contributed to the electoral victory of PDP are now in APC.”

Ogodo who is miffed at the poor state of infrastructure, spoke on his ambition, his plans for the good people of Sapele, the moves to dislodge Okowa from the Delta State Government House and the popularity of Great Ogboru, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Rt Hon Monday Igbuya.

The APC candidate condemned the way resources of the state were allegedly misused by the current administration, saying that efforts would be made to stop Okowa from coming back in 2019.

“Politics is not war, it is test of programmes, 2019 elections present us with the best opportunity to change Okowa.”

Turning to economic development, the Sapele born politician and former chairman, Sapele Okpe Community vowed to impact on the lives of the people.

He juxtaposed the resources at the disposal of Okowa with verifiable achievements, describing the incumbent governor as a failure.

He assured that Ogboru has drawn a roadmap that will engender rapid socio-economic development in Delta State

On his chances of winning the Sapele State Constituency contest, Ogodo said it was bright, citing the poor performance of Okowa and the influence of Ogboru, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Igbuya and other APC chieftains in the state.

He told journalists quite bluntly that he delivered the vote that gave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sapele State Constituency candidate, Chief Felix Anirah victory in the chairmanship election many years ago.

“Chief Paulinus Akpeki, a man with a lot of money that time, could not deliver the votes”.

The former councillor and vice chairman of Sapele Local Government promised to provide good leadership that would turn the fortunes of Sapele around positively.

“I will work towards the take off of Sapele Polytechnic and the growth of National Open University in Sapele. I will attract local and foreign investment. I will ensure conducive atmosphere for companies.”

The former supervisory councillor for agriculture, rural development and education urged Deltans to support President Muhammadu Buhari, Ogboru, Ovie Omo-Agege and Igbuya.

“Igbuya is the best person for the Sapele, Okpe and Uvwie Federal Constituency job,” he said .
