Obiano’s victory’ll ensure continued civil servants’ welfare, says HoS

Civil Servants in Anambra State have said that Governor Willie Obiano’s victory in the just-concluded governorship election in the state would guarantee their welfare under his administration.
The Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Harry Udu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Friday that the bloc support of the workers in the state for Obiano was because he was committed to their welfare.
He said the leave allowance of workers in the state for 2017 had been paid, noting that the workers were looking forward to the usual Christmas Rice largesse of the Obiano administration.
His words: “We are upbeat since the result of the election was released; it reflected the wishes and aspirations of workers in the state.
Workers threw their hat in the ring in that election to vote for the friend they know, they voted where their bread was buttered and we are all happy.
I do not need to plead with Obiano specially to sustain his tempo on workers’ welfare; the interest of the people of Anambra is primary to him, we are certain that his good programmes will continue.
During Public Service Day celebration, he promised to pay our leave allowances, as I am speaking with you, that one has dropped, we are sure our salary alerts will come soon and the Christmas rice is certain,’’ he said.
Udu promised that Anambra workforce would redouble their efforts in supporting the governor to achieve his policy objectives, including improving the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.
He congratulated the people of Anambra for the peaceful election and thanked the state workforce for defying all odds to vote massively for Obiano.
The governor through his labour-friendly disposition has made my job a lot easier, our promotions are up to date up to 2016, and the National Housing Scheme has taken off.
On our part, we shall do our best to drive his policies and enable him to achieve his Divine mandate in Anambra,’’ he said.
