The ongoing 2019 Anambra Community Cup Football tournament has gotten to semi finals with Umunachi Worriors defeating the Eagles Aguluezechukwu.
The match which ended with (Umunnachi) 3:0 against Aguluezechukwu was played at the Otuocha Township Stadium, Anambra East Local government Area.
Reacting during the match, the Chairman Sports Development Commission, Tony Oli, disclosed that the essence was to take Anambra youths off the street.
Oli revealed that Governor Obiano had expressed determination to ensure meaningful engagement of yours in different skills.
Mr. Oli disclosed that 188 communities in Anambra State participated in the tournament and noted that the Final between Umunnachi and Achina would be played on December 28, 2019, at the field of St Mary’s High School, Ifitedunu.
He commended Governor Obiano for investing in sports, which according to him, had projected the state to limelight.

One of the sponsors of Umunnachi team, who is also the Transition Chairman, Dunukofia Local Govt Council, Engr. Okonkwo Emeka, said the tournament was a best way in building Youths and talking them of the street to refrain from crime and criminality.
While commending Gov Obiano for the initiative, he expressed confidence that Umunachi team would defeat Achina in the final.
He said the winning team had received various motivations and they are determined to emerge victorious in the final.
Meanwhile, the second match for the semi finals was simultaneously played at Abagana, where Achina team defeated Nanka with one goal, to meet Umunnachi team.
Emmanuel Okafor, a player for Umunachi scored two goals while Alaka Onyeka scored one.
