In a bid to get the Nigerian economy firing from the ground up Heritage Bank has again thrown its support behind the National Youth Service Corp.
With an eye to finding the next Dangote or tech giant, Heritage Bank announced it would be running a series of leadership programs exclusively for NYSC members across the country.
The Leadership Development Programme, which is run in conjunction with Guardians of the Nation International, is designed to teach and inspire young entrepreneurs to either start-up or grow their businesses.
Anybody who has tried to start a business knows just how hard it can be but it’s expected this program will provide Corp members with the necessary skills to succeed in business.
Managing director and CEO of Heritage Bank, Ifie Sekibo, attended one of the leadership programs at the weekend.
Speaking at the event, Mr Sekibo said bank rolling the program across all 36 states was in keeping with Heritage Bank’s desire to build wealth creating partnerships with its customers.
He said the partnership established by Heritage Bank with Corp members showed the bank’s dedication to boost entrepreneurial growth throughout Nigeria.
Mr Sekibo said the leadership initiative was critical for the bank to deliver on its ambitious plans to build a sustainable way of keeping our pockets stuffed with Naira into the future.
During these tough economic times Heritage Bank has appeared as a steady ship and rough seas.
The bank has focused on Small and Medium Enterprise businesses with initiatives to help entrepreneurs and owners create industries that can be depended on to create jobs.
Heritage Bank has jumped on board with the push to diversify the Nigerian economy and is now the go to bank in agriculture, cottage industry, mining, tourism and Information and Communications Technology.
Heritage Bank recently pumped N2 billion into local firm Triton Aqua Africa Limited for its fish aquaculture business.
With Heritage Bank’s support of business minded Corp members it will only be a matter of time before Nigeria’s youth start to drive the economy and create new jobs for future generations.
