The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Ibrahim Shuaibu has challenged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to be patriotic and diligent while executing their statutory responsibilities to their fatherland.
The director general gave the charge at a brief ceremony while commissioning Personal Community Development Project of an E- Library at the National Headquarters of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Abuja developed by a corps member, Ahmad Abubakar on Monday.
Gen. Shuaibu said every Nigerian corps member must be committed to the ideals of a united nation adding that, the corporate existence of the country is a collective responsibility of all and sundry.
Shuaibu further said corps members who had made enormous impact in communities all over the country shall never be forgotten and that history will never forget Ahmad Abubakar in a hurry.
While delivering his speech at the occasion, the corps member, Ahmad Abubakar, thank the DG NYSC, Gen. Ibrahim Shuaibu for the fatherly role he is playing in the lives of all corps members in Nigeria. Describing him as a true Nigerian.
According to him, the manual system of the operations is getting obsolete; it is no longer as effective as it should be. As a result, there is less patronage and use of the library’s extensive resources.
The graduate of Library and Information Technology said it was this among other reasons that inspired him to carry out the establishment of an E-library section in order to help expand and enhance its resources to corps members, staff and other stakeholders wherever they maybe in the country.
